WellyBoot Armchair - Final Exhibition

So I finally finished the sofa - which ended up being a very squidgey comfy armchair type thing...I think I actually created a whole new genre of chairs...

Heres some photos from the exhibition, and I managed to get a few of my beautiful cat Mrs Tuffles playing on it in our beautiful garden, before it was mowed and we moved house and Tuffles went to live at my mums house.

crochet fever

Haven't made a new hat for a while, so thought id make something loose knit and spring colours for the new season. In this photo the edge is folded up but it'll make a nice baggy hat once its found its shape a little better :)

Welly Boot Sofas...

I was asked to help a friend out with his charity festival reboot...he collect all those wellies everyone leaves behind at glastonbury and turns them into bracelets and such. http://www.festivalreboot.co.uk.

He asked me to see if I could make a sofa out of wellies....now I wont tell you too much until I have a finished product which should be in about a month, but have been doing some printing with a wellyboot tread design. The idea is to bring together the idea of 'what we leave behind'...and the effect it has - not necessarily just for the festival but in a broader sense. Today I finally got my screen print mug on - took me about 3 weeks but pleased with the initial experiments...

All I want for Christmas is...a SaffySnood!

We had a christmas fair in coleg and I managed to create some cool hooded scarves...for the moment they are called SaffySnoods but I think that is far too twee...feedback would be great on a name! The important thing about them is that all the material which makes them look cool is bought from charity shops, usually size 18 granny skirts and dresses, chopped up and made into something else - giving them that recycled and preloved edge. The warm part (the fleecey lining) is bought from a local fabric shop...very important point here in glorious Pembrokeshire where we are all about the keeping local businesses alive sort of thing.

I did pretty good at the fair...I sold 4 snoods at £20 each. This is what I have made so far but Im planning to just keep going with my collection of granny clothes and build up some stock of sorts. Hopefully. I can also make to order so if you have any special design requests I will try to accommodate almost anything - as long as I can keep to using recycled and preloved materials, Im happy!

welsh valentines day project explorations

Dont have many ideas at the moment in terms of final design...but lots and lots of words. Backwards writing for direct transfer prints makes for a fun afternoon!

and a special one for my friend holly, who enjoys long walks on the beach and surrounding herself with boobs.

...and then there was clay...

Made some cool little ornaments whilst searching for patterns. Far to delicate to have any real use...but I had fun!
